I experience life through travel. At each destination, there is always a new spice, which I capture in little jars. Over the years, my collection of little jars has grown and grown. Every time I close my eyes and open on of my jars, I'm filled with fragrant memories of beautiful stories, travel & food.....

I'm Laura-Ashley Boden and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I spend my life split between Europe, Canada and Africa. I have three hearts, three homes. Each has made me who I am - an aid worker, helping countries to improve their education systems - a chef, making plant based dishes that leave a memory, even with meat eaters - and a proud Canadian, transmitting as much love and joy into the world as I can. Come meet me, I'd love to hear your stories!

Why stories?

Always start with stories. The rest is up to you.

I am global story-teller, and on this site I'll feature stories of thoughtful, innovative people with creativity and a desire to build better lives for themselves, and for others. Have you ever heard the expression that the best solutions to world problems are found locally, in our own backyards? This is true, but in today's society it is easier than ever to reach out and connect with corners of the globe we never before thought possible. You may be inspired to reach out, to visit, or to try new things. If you feel a desire to engage but don't know where to start, reach out to us! We can link you to other like-minded people. Beautiful stories exist everywhere, you just need to know where to look.

why travel?

I'll show you where I've been, in case you're interested

The more you travel, the more you learn about other people, and the more you learn about yourself. Think about it - how many times when you come across something new do you immediately feel uncomfortable, as you try to understand and make sense of it? So many misunderstandings stem from people with firm beliefs not being able to put themselves in their neighbours shoes. Why not try walking in them, or at least take the path they follow each day, just to try to understand?

My work takes me around the world (and back again!) I often visit places which are not on everyone's "must-see" list. And I can attest that some of my favourite places are off the beaten track. It can be hard to find information on where to go, how to get there, and to imagine what some of these countries are really like. I'll feature the best of cities I know well, from Vancouver to Kigali, from Hong Kong to Boston. Please share your tips with us!

Why Food?

Recipes to inspire you.

Sitting and sharing a meal is probably one of the most intimate ways to get to know someone - their tastes, their traditions, their culture - it can all be seen by what is presented on a plate and experienced together. I live to eat, to try new things, and to collect new spices which we bring back to my own kitchen. No wonder I have over 200 little jars and counting!

On this site you’ll find recipes that celebrate real, whole foods. I prefer cook together and celebrate food together, even though we often all have very different tastes! All the recipes we feature will be made with simple ingredients (fresh fruits, veggies, good fats, nuts, seeds and other grains). All recipes will provide you with the nutrition you need to feel whole and nourished.
